I am Igrien Liu, a visual artist, writer, and creative director based in Amsterdam. My work is a continuous exploration of identity, time, and cultural heritage—shaped by my experience as part of the Chinese diaspora in the Netherlands.
With a background in law, my path into the creative industry was anything but linear. Yet, storytelling has always been at the core of what I do, whether through photography, writing, or publishing. My projects bridge different disciplines, blending conceptual depth with strong visual narratives.
Through my foundation, The Red Blue Collective, I focus on amplifying the voices of the Chinese diaspora, preserving stories that would otherwise remain untold. Through Currant Magazine, I explore the intersection of luxury, culture, and media in the digital age—bringing a fresh perspective on slow content and purposeful design.
Across all my work, I aim to capture moments of reflection—where past and present, East and West, tradition and modernity meet.
On social media, I share my journey as an artist, my thoughts on creativity, and how I balance life as a mother. It’s a space where I document the process, the struggles, and the beauty of merging artistry with everyday life.
