Becoming

I started Becoming as a way of documenting a life before I knew how the story would turn out.

Much of what we see of creative lives is retrospective. The uncertainty disappears, failed attempts are edited out and years of searching are compressed into a finished result. I wanted to keep the parts in between.

Becoming is an ongoing record of building a creative practice while living it. It follows the work as it develops, but also everything that shapes it: ambition, doubt, motherhood, changing direction, learning new things, making mistakes and the ordinary days that would otherwise disappear.

The project moves across long-form film, short video, photography and writing. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Threads are not separate content channels within the project, but different ways of recording the same ongoing story.

Some entries are carefully considered. Others are fragments, observations or unfinished thoughts. Together, they form an archive of change over time.

Becoming is not about presenting a finished version of myself.

It is about keeping a record of the becoming.
