Painterly
Editorial for Currant Magazine 2025
Photography, long exposure & light painting
Styling featuring Hermès and Gucci
Painterly is an editorial series created for Currant Magazine, using light painting to blur the boundary between fashion photography and image-making.
Through long exposure, light is drawn across and around the body, turning movement into gesture and the photograph into something closer to a painted surface. Styled with pieces from Hermès and Gucci, the series contrasts the precision of luxury fashion with the unpredictability of light.
Although created as a commercial editorial, Painterly reflects an ongoing interest in using photography not simply to document, but to transform — allowing image, movement and atmosphere to become part of the subject itself.
